Armstrong to ask for equal time in doping book?

Procycling.com | Armstrong counter attacks in book war

Armstrong's French attorney will on Friday submit a request that Armstrong be allowed to place a counterclaim in every copy of L.A. Confidential: The Secrets of Lance Armstrong, a forthcoming book that collects circumstantial evidence the authors claim shows that Armstrong has used doping products.

Due for separate consideration is a request that the book be blocked or to have passages Armstrong's attorneys claim are defamatory removed.

In a statement on Thursday afternoon, Charrière-Bournazel described the proposed insert as "a warning from Lance Armstrong which sets against the accusations of doping and cheating contained in the book his most unequivocal denials".

Procycling notes once again that "[d]etails are still scarce or non-existent about when in the coming days or weeks "LA Confidential" is set to hit the shelves."

In England, the case against the authors and the Sunday Times is open, but Armstrong and his barristers have four months in which to collect evidence.
