Tour de Georgia underway

Stage 1, Augusta to Macon, is on the road.

The only live coverage I see anywhere on the web is here at VeloNews.

Post in the comments if you find others.

Update: Bruce from AMD Pro Cycling's website suggested the Tour's own live updates page, which combines CyclingNews.com commentary and a peloton tracker from iTrak. As eye candy, the tracker rocks, but I'm not totally sold on the implementation just yet.

CyclingNews.com also has live coverage:

Thanks, Bruce -- that's a nice link because of the iTrak "Live race map" feature.

Unfortunately, instead of rider names or numbers, it's got descriptive names: Right now, I think "Pace" is the leader, Bowman, "Sprint" is the chasers (Pinotti/Fanelli), then "Peloton" which is understandable, but then "Broom"? I'm assuming there's no gruppetto today, since the pace has been very slow, but maybe there is...

Gundog -- the link Bruce posted actually incorporates the CyclingNews commentary, along with a course map showing current positions of the main groups.

Robbie Hunter of Phonak takes the first stage.

Do you guys know if there's a streaming audio link of the race radio? That would be sweet.

Looks like they're not sold on the implementation yet, either. Today the updates just have the CyclingNews feed - no iTrak live race map. What I want to see is a live race tracker on a Google Maps interface, so you can switch from map view to satellite view. As long as we're dreaming, might as well throw in a 3D topo map with fly-throughs and on-screen avatars for each rider (with mouse-overs that show mph, cadence, heartrate, GC, etc).
