Today's the longest stage of the Tour, at 239.5 kilometers, or 149 miles. It features a couple of 4th Category climbs, a couple of 3rd Category climbs, and a couple of sprint lines to keep the jersey contenders on their toes.

Your key tactical feature is a 3rd Category climb 7 km from the finish, which looks like a springboard for a classics-style rider, or a Kazakh.

Jersey Update:

Lance Armstrong

Thor Hushovd

Michael Rasmussen

Yaroslav Popovych

Nice call on the final Cat 3 - clever move by Vinokourov there. If he could only ride that smart for an entire stage. (Or even better, a 3-week series thereof.)

Jan Ullrich should not be criticized so drastically. For one, he sure looks good on a bike...much better than the dominant Lance. Another, he's in a wrong team. His team mates do not prioritize him in all the stages...with most going for solo victories. Whatever happened to all for one and one for all? Take Discovery's George...he sacrificed 7 tours in a row just to make sure Lance stands on the podium ultimately. Alexandre Vinokourov should not have deserted his #1 man to take stage 11....it's trully personal gratification at its worst.
