Zabriskie USAToday's Athlete of the Week

USATODAY.com | Athlete of the Week Zabriskie starts Tour fast

Dave Zabriskie was named USAToday.com's Athlete of the Week, for his win in the Stage 1 time trial and 3 days leading the Tour de France.

At age 26, Zabriskie has now won a stage in each of the three grand tours — Spain, Italy and France. For his win in Italy, Zabriskie won USATODAY.com's U.S. Olympic Athlete of the Week honors for the first time. (Related item: Zabriskie's first AOW win)

This week, despite a nasty fall that cost him the yellow jersey Tuesday, Zabriskie takes USATODAY.com's honors for the second time.

Chris Horner was similarly recognized in June for his performance at the Tour de Suisse.
