Oscar Freire joins growing list of Tour no-shows
Bike.com | Rabobank Sprinter Heads For Surgery Not Tour
Rabobank's double road world champion Oscar Freire will have surgery instead of riding this year's Tour. Today's Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Freire will undergo minor surgery that requires 10 days of complete rest, and so will miss the Tour de France. I haven't seen any details as to what sort of surgery.
Freire joins a growing list of riders who won't make this year's Tour, including Joseba Beloki and Alexandre Vinokourov.
