Armstrong won't wear yellow for prologue
procycling | No yellow for Lance; Eki's last
Lance Armstrong will wear his US Postal colors in tomorrow's prologue, rather than the yellow jersey he's entitled to wear as the defending champion.
Armstrong's teammate Viatcheslav Ekimov, the oldest racer in this year's Tour, has announced this will be his 13th and last Tour. Ekimov has raced 12 Tours, and finished 12 Tours (Joop Zoetemelk holds the record with 16 starts and 16 finishes). Ekimov won a stage in 1991.
Update: Here's a shot of Armstrong in yellow at last year's prologue:

Hasn't Lance forgone the yellow jersey at the start of every Tour since his first win?

No -- he's done it before, but last year he chose to ride in the yellow jersey for the prologue.
I'm posting a picture above that I found at the official Tour site's 2003 prologue page.
TypePad doesn't seem to like images in comments.

Lance wore yellow for the 2003 Tour prologue, because it was the 100 years of the Tour. So out of respect for the Tour organizers he wore the yellow jersey
But he usually wears his team colors for the start of the Tour. He has said that he wants to wear yellow when he earns it.
