The Milk Race was a mainstay of the European circuit for decades: when the Milk Marketing Board was privatized, it died off. There were a couple of abortive attempts to revive the format of a British stage race -- the Kelloggs Pro Tour, and the PruTour -- so let's hope that this revival has staying power. There's huge enthusiasm for road racing in Britain, primarily at the amateur level, and I've no doubt that the five-day tour (for which the UCI has granted elite status) will bring out the crowds.
