Velo out; peloton at 184

The man with the most appropriate name in the peloton, Fassa Bortolo's Marco Velo, has abandoned after the crash on Stage 3. First reports are a broken collarbone.

Velo is traditionally the last lead-out man in Fassa Bortolo's silver train, setting up Alessandro Petacchi.

Coupled with the abandonment this morning by Frédéric Bessy, the pack is down to 184 riders.
