Sheryl Crow ditches Live 8

KBAC-FM | Sheryl Crow Pulls Out of Paris Live 8

Sheryl Crow won't be performing at Live 8 on Saturday in Paris, as originally planned.

She's citing "substantial logistical and personal challenges" for dropping out of the concert at the Palais Versailles.

Crow was expected to perform in France before joining boyfriend Lance Armstrong, who is competing in the Tour De France for the final time.

There's a short statement at SherylCrow.com.

No offense, but I really don't see what this has to do with the TDF... Or, living in Austin, maybe I'm just sick of the Sheryl Crow media blitz...

Jeff -- none taken, but it may or may not have anything to do with the Tour: maybe she and Armstrong are on the outs, or maybe Jean-Marie Leblanc has requested she sing “Le Marseillaise” before the prologue. Her statement doesn't really tell us.

To me, it sounds like "substantial logistical and personal challenges" might have something to do with Crow's boyfriend.

I'm curious if Lance will make good on his vow to spend his time on the road in support of Sheryl after he retires... at least to the extent she seems to do with him.
