Klöden out for six weeks

TODAYonline | Tour de France runner-up Kloden hit for six

Andreas Klöden is having surgery for ligament damage in his right shoulder today, and is likely to miss six weeks of racing.

Klöden was 2nd in the 2004 Tour, and is a key teammate of 2006 early favorite Jan Ullrich.

Klöden should be back to light training in 2 weeks, and should have plenty of time to recover before the Tour.

Update: The surgery was a success, and told the T-Mobile team website "I will be able to train again on the rollers very soon."
