Awesome Race to Replace posters
I was going to banish these cool “hero of the proletariat” style posters to the sidebar, but just couldn't.These are posted in San Francisco to promote Discovery Channel's “Race To Replace” in Indianapolis. There's at least one more, probably of Hincapie: That light blue below Savoldelli's poster has a Race2Replace logo at the top.
Has anybody seen a full set? Are the posters available anywhere?

I saw some tonight in San Francisco and was wondering what they were about. hanks for clarifying.
I can take photos of them, if you'd like. Doubt I could steal a set of the real thing for you, though.

I'm not too big on posters myself, but these were much too cool to dismiss, so I did a bit of looking around, and found that some guy tried to see these on e-bay a little while ago. Run a search, and be sure to check the "completed items" box. Did a quick google search too... came up with Hincapie, Danielson, and Popo's.

Wow- we really need to find out where to get these. Time to do some googling...

I found two full size scans (24x36) of the Hincapie and Danielson posters via Google at http://users.icubed.com/~mayhew/john
They are VERY cool. Don't know why they have them, why only these two, or if they were meant to be seen, but....
Watch out for copyright issues...

From what I've found on google apparently you were supposed to get a poster if you signed up for the race2replace itself. There are six posters total. The poster givaway is not in the current race description so I don't know why they changed it.
I sent email to the Discovery team fan club begging shamelessly for the posters. They are way super awesome.

There are two right around the corner from me in NYC! I have a Hincapie one with wings (pretty sweet) and I also have a Popo one. It sounds kind of ridiculous but I was so excited when I saw them walking home from work the other day that I did a double take.

Actually, at least the Savoldelli poster isn't a Soviet-style hero-of-the-proletariat pose - it's an Italian-style Michelangelo's-David. Not sure about Eki, but seems to be a I-am-supreme-badass-Russki-tourminator-from-the Russian-steppes thing going on there.
Let's hope at least one of them actually lives up to some of the hype and finishes in the top 10 - as usual, the mountains will have the final say, even if it's taken this year's TdF a full week-and-a-frickin'-half to get to the first sniff of a real climb. Whoever did the route planning and decided to nix the TTT is in dire need of a severe flogging.

Superb...parroted propaganda techniques from murderous fascist/totalitarian regimes...
Where's the Hincapie dressed as Che Guevara poster?

Thanks for posting this. My husband and I live in SF and we have been wondering about them since they appeared in our neighborhood a couple of days ago.

Hey guys,
My boyfriend, Tavis Coburn www.taviscoburn.com, designed the Race To Replace posters and he's been receiving waves of emails relating to poster sales. If you're interested in purchasing posters, I'd send email/phone requests to the Discovery Network. They determine whether or not the posters will be sold to the public.
I love them too! Tav's psyched about your feedback.

Laura,
Cool. Would Tav be interested in talking more about them with us on Bike Hugger? You can tell much passion for cycling went into that artwork.

The whole set is available as fridge magnets at Discovery stores if you buy any cycling related item!

I got a full set on eBay. They are absolutely gorgeous, the color, the heavy weight of the paper. Seriously, they are beautiful individually, but the full set is breathtaking. I can't wait to get them framed. Anyone else who is interested in owning a full set should keep an eye on eBay. They are rare, but it's the only way to get them and totally worth it.

I just posted a set of 6 of these on Ebay. Item number: 330131885188.
