Stage 10: Kangaroo Head Guy
Ok, it takes a bit more than carrying an inflated kangaroo on your head and running next to the racers to win "best fan costume" in my book. From the Lance years, I always dug the bighorn helmet guy, the occasional spider-man/batman, and that one time when a fake rider got in the action, and do I ever wish the Specialized Angel would show up! Also, while always looking for the snarky graffiti on the road, I haven't seen the usual phallic symbols or any El Dope's. And there's the Devil, who was interviewed by Bicycling Magazine.

I think "Moon Guy" running along on Stage 10 is a contender for best fan. Phil and Paul never miss a beat when things like that show up on the screen.
There's just too many contenders to sort out all the "Worst Fans", although "Green Hand Guy" is right up there for 2006, along with Lance's famous "Musette Bag Guy".

Don't you just get sick of those sideline, closet "best fan costume" mockers that appear from underneath the woodwork at major sporting events. Rather than sitting at home knitting cardigans and potting people who love a bit of fun, I suggest they get themselves a koala suit, a cold stubby, climb a tree and jump around like a drugged up tour de france cyclist all in the name of a bit of fun (and get your mug on TV)!
Over and out for this year
